Bro. Harry sends out frequent e-mails with all the happenings. If you aren't getting a copy and want one, let him know. We are also uploading that information here. Either way, you're in the know!

We have 3 high school graduates this year:
Kerri Bennett,
Brittney Donehoo and
Brittiny Garmon.
Kerri and Brittiny are graduating from Kaufman and Brittney is graduating from Scurry-Rosser.
We are so very proud of these three young women.
We hosted a small graduation celebration on May 18th.

We are preparing a revival of "Sweet Freedom's Song" as a celebration of July 4th. Mrs. Bobby and the choirs are rehearsing to make this a special night. Please plan on joining us.

Each year we have taken our kids to Church Camp.
Our current camp is Purley Gates camp in Winsboro, Texas.
(It is a bit north and east of Tyler.)
This year's camp is titled "Where's Yer Treasure".
I smell a pirate theme (or is that some dirty bilge water somewhere?)
Cost will be $147.
If you want to go, but think the cost might be an issue, please talk with Bro. Harry.
There are always folks that donate to help folks to go.
Schedule your vacation! Come with us!
I promise, you will not regret a second!
Last year's camp happened the week of July 9th (the week AFTER the 4th of July week.)
The theme of the camp was "No Fear", and it certainly lived up to the name.
We had terrific preaching (even if "King David" had to preach by flashlight!),
great activities, and watched lives being changed.
And, as the ultimate "No Fear" moment, Blake Hardin surrendered to preach.
After many years of hard work and self-sacrifice by our members, we've finished our fellowship hall.
What a wonderful blessing to have such a terrific space.
Our current rate of growth (Praise God!) predicts standing room only in a few short years.
We're now in the planning stages for increasing the auditorium seating, and are looking into all options.
Look for more information and forms in the church foyer.
At 7:00 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month, the men gather at the church for a hearty breakfast and a time of prayer and fellowship. Sometimes, the breakfast is "worked off" by doing a few minor jobs around the church. It is worth waking up early for!
We have been having a Teen Night on the last Saturday of the month, with great success. We've had other churches join us, and we've travelled to other churches for a concert. Bring friends, too. The last person to bring the most friends got a prize!
Due to church camp and school schedules, we won't be having a Teen Night during July or August. We'll start back on Sepember 27th. We hope to see you then!
Wow, are we busy! There is a lot going on.
We have a Ladies Bible Study, led by Lisa Bailey. We meet in the Fellowship hall each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. We're taking a short break between studies and will resume on July 15th. This next study is titled "Forgiveness". Bring a friend (or two), and we look forward to seeing you.
There is also an organized group of ladies that are taking care of the church foyer and auditorium decorations as well as sending "don't be homesick" boxes to our college students. If you aren't already part of this, please contact Lori Robertson or Glenda Smith. There is a sign-up list in the foyer of the church, too. This is a team effort, so don't be afraid! You'll have a partner (or two!) to help!
We have also created holiday "goodie" boxes for our soldiers overseas.
We have even heard back from some of them!
If you have a soldier in your life that would appreciate a package from home,
please get us their addresses, and we'll add them to our list for the next time.
Don't have a soldier? Want to help one?
Go to AnySoldier.com and read some of the stories.
You don't have to send goodies: moral support is needed as much as chapstick.
Send a letter.
Tell the soldier that gets your letter that even though you don't know their name, God does, and you are praying for them.
These folks are the epitome of courage and bravery.
Without them, we'd all sleep less secure at night.
Make every day "Veteran's Day" and thank everyone who has ever worn a uniform.
The 9th annual Southside Chili and Dessert Cook-Off was held on Saturday, January 26th.
Glenda Smith won the Chili competition with her "Hot Wings Chili".
Mark Jones took the Best Dessert honors with his Pumpkin Dessert.
Brooke Robertson won the Most Unique Desert with her Snowman Chocolate cake.
The competition is always fierce (and sometimes requires Mylanta!) but we all have fun.
Plan on joining us next January for our 10th Annual contest.
