Youth Group

We are the young led by the young at heart! Each Sunday morning we learn how to apply God's word to our lives. We meet each Wednesday evening for Teen Time, where anything goes! We might play Bible-based games, watch a Christian movie, or just talk about relevant topics. We want to be a light for all to see.

We've moved! Our new classroom has been dubbed "The Upper Room", and the Youth Group officially moved in on Easter Sunday, 2007. We were a bit nervous about moving, again, but boy do we like it! We have darts, foosball, ping pong, air hockey, computers, a TV (with a DVD, VHS and XBox attached), a microwave and a fridge. You know, we've had a hard time making some of the teens go home! While all of these modern "toys" are terrific, they are all used to further God's word. Come visit us to see what you're missing.

We have a scheduled Pizza (or Chicken, depending on our mood) fellowship the first Wednesday of every odd-numbered month.

We have other fellowships, too. We have gone to Celebration Station, Six Flags, the Christmas lights in Athens or just to Bro. Bryan's ranch to play.

Our last outing was to YOUTH BLAST 2006. It was Friday, November 17th, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church in Fort Worth, starting at 9 pm. This was an all night event! Bro. Raleigh Campbell will brought and eye opening message about "True and False", and there was lots of energetic music from the youth band. After the worship service, we went to CiCi's pizza, then 2 hours of Broom Hockey at the Parks Mall, 2 hours of bowling, and then we finished it off at The Palace of Wax and Ripley's "Believe It or Not" museums. (Somehow they got those folks at Ripley's to open up at 5:00 am for us!) It was indeed a BLAST! Now, we need a whole year to recover, but it was fun!

The fellowship before that was a "Back to School Blow Out" at the AQ ranch on August 19th, 2006. It was scheduled to go from 3 to 9 pm, but the last folks trickled out around 10 pm. The paintball field was set up, and so was the swimming pool. We ate, we played, we swam, we toasted marshmallows and played "extreme tag". Steve and Lori were great chaperones, and had the best seats in the house!
